Dr. Laura Pogue Appointed to the College of Aviation (CAPS) Advisory Council
at Utah Valley University

 

Provo, UT - October 15, 2013 - Dr. Laura Pogue has been appointed to the College of Aviation and Public Services (CAPS) Advisory Council at Utah Valley University. The Council creates policy; serves as a liaison between the College of Aviation and Public Services (CAPS) and the University; and works together with the aviation industry to solicit their feedback for incorporation into the curriculum to result in graduate talent to meet the needs of the aviation industry.

With post-secondary expertise in accreditation, distant education, and various educational leadership roles, in addition to her licensed aviation training, instructor and aviator experience,  Dr. Pogue brings a rich mix of knowledge to the Council. She is currently a Federal Aviation Administration certified commercial pilot and Advanced Ground Instructor.

"The College of Aviation and Public Services offers degree programs in cutting-edge aviation career fields for our students, where there is a great need for highly trained individuals in all fields of aviation, not just for pilots", stated Dr. Pogue. Along with several degree programs within Utah Valley University, Aviation Sciences has grown into one of the largest and most respected aviation programs in the nation.

The College of Aviation and Public Services (CAPS) Advisory Council will focus on fulfilling the mission of the College of Aviation and Public Services (CAPS). "We will collaborate with these key leaders to incorporate the latest aviation industry technology and training requirements and expectations as a vehicle to provide the highest quality curriculum; ensuring our students an advantage in achieving a strong start to their respective aviation careers", explains Dr. Pogue.

The Advisory Council of the College of Aviation and Public Services (CAPS) also works to build relationships with key aviation industry and University leaders, faculty, students and stakeholders. The Council strives to generate awareness and carve a solid reputation within the aviation and academic communities.
